Born and raised in Minnesota, the outdoors is in my blood. Most everything I know about fishing came from my late father, Jack, and the hunting came not only from Dad, but from three brother in-laws in the north woods of Minnesota. Years of family vacations at the lake as far back as I can remember, countless weekends bird and deer hunting with family and friends, I haven't missed too many opportunities to get outdoors.

I've owned this Outdoor Connection office since 2004. It has afforded me the pleasure of helping friends and clients make memories. My favorites are a parent taking their child on their first adventure, from fishing in Canada, to a Midwest turkey hunt, or whitetail pursuit in Montana or Texas. My son has been fishing with me since he was three years old, and he can't wait to get out hunting with Dad too !

Twenty years in customer service and sales has taught me, no matter the line of work it is all about the customer, not only for today but for years to come. As it turns out, it isn't only a job for me, but is what I was meant to do. My goal is get to know you so well, that after the first trip all it takes is a phone call "Steve, I'm ready to go on that trip to ..." to start the ball rolling to get you to the outfitter just right for you.

Passion, experience, dedication ... not just buzz words, but a way of life for me, working for you.

I grew up with a fly rod in my hand, a passion for the great outdoors and a deep commitment to doing my part to preserve it for future generations. I've traveled the world in these pursuits, fished and hunted from Labrador to Alaska, from Alberta to Argentina, across Canada, the US and many parts of Mexico.

The sport of fly fishing has taken me to some of the most beautiful places in the world. Above, check out a few pictures of my recent trips to Belize (left) and Chile. Living in Minnesota, I'm no stranger to baitcasting tackle either ! Freshwater, saltwater, you name it, I've probably fished for it.

And, I know a thing or two about the other side of the business, having owned an outfitter's license in the great state of Idaho as well.

In all the ventures of my life, I've worked hard on behalf of my clients. It's my profession, a calling. As the co-owner of this Outdoor Connection Franchise, it is incumbent upon me to help you find that destination you've dreamed about. If we can't produce what you are looking for, I'll be honest and tell you that's the case. That will always be our mission, taking care of you.
